Special Grama Sabha meetings to be held tomorrow

May 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:02 am IST - TIRUVANNAMALAI:

Special Grama Sabha meetings would be held in all the village panchayats in Tiruvannamalai district on May 17 to enable the voters to verify the electoral rolls to locate their Aadhaar number, email ID and the correctness of the names of those included in and deleted from the rolls, and incorporation of changes in the addresses of the voters.

According to an official release, under the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), polling officers in the district undertook a house-to-house exercise from March 25 onwards throughout the district to include the Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID of the voters in the electors’ photo identity cards (EPIC).

It has been decided to display the revised electoral rolls in the Special Grama Sabha meetings.

This would enable the voters to peruse the same and verify the correctness of the changes and incorporation of the additional details in the electoral rolls.
