Smart city project: take a photo, post on FB page

October 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:06 am IST - VELLORE:

For those avidly tracking the Vellore Smart City project, here is an opportunity to showcase the myriad colours of the city.

All you need to do is to click a photograph in Vellore on a given theme and post it on the Facebook page of Vellore Smart City to get a chance to find your work in the project proposal to be submitted to the Union Ministry of Urban Development.

Photography contest

Athena Infonomics, the consultant selected for the smart cities project, has come up with a photography contest on Facebook.

Click a picture in Vellore as per the theme given, add a slogan and post it on Facebook page of Vellore Smart City.

The theme for this week is “Heritage of Vellore”. A theme will be provided every week, with the contest opening every Monday.

The photograph with the maximum likes will go on to make the cover picture of the Vellore Smart City Facebook page on a weekly basis.

Final proposal

And this was not all. “The photographs chosen by us will feature in the final proposal being prepared for submission to the Union Ministry of Urban Development. We will give photo credits to the photographs chosen,” Vinod Ramanarayanan, consultant, Athena Infonomics said.

For further details regarding the project, visit the FB page : https://www.facebook.com/velloresmartcity. More events are being lined up to involve Velloreans in the project. This will include school and college students.
