Sidelined AIADMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Monday said that the identities of the MLAs in ‘sleeper cells’ — an allusion to party legislators who supported him and jailed interim general secretary V.K. Sasikala — would become known when the vote of confidence is held in the Assembly.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr. Dhinakaran maintained that he was not referring to Sellur K. Raju, the Minister for Cooperation, who on Sunday credited Ms. Sasikala with forming the current government.
On disqualification case
“I only said that he [Mr. Raju] had spoken in accordance with his conscience. How can I reveal their identities now?” he quipped.
He said he was confident about securing a favourable verdict from the High Court on the petition challenging the disqualification of 18 MLAs by the Speaker.
He added that he was unaware whether Handlooms Minister O.S. Manian was kept in “house arrest” to prevent the latter from meeting Ms. Sasikala, who is currently out on parole.
