Silver anklet unit workers’ appeal

October 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - SALEM:

The women workers of the silver anklet manufacturing units have urged the State Government to include them in the list of unorganised sector workers’ welfare board. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the district conference of the silver anklet unit women workers organised by the Thozhi Koottamaippu and Gramiya Pengal Mempattu Niruvanam at Taramangalam on Friday. Another resolution pleaded for separate rooms for lactating mothers in the silver anklet units. The meeting also demanded provision of government fixed wages and their inclusion in the insurance scheme.
