SFI stages demonstration condemning IIT-M

Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) staged a demonstration in front of the Anna Statue on Saturday to condemn the action of the IIT-M management de-recognising the Ambedkar – Periyar Study Circle (APSC) of the institute.

They raised slogans against the Modi-led Central Government for launching an onslaught on freedom of expression enshrined in the Constitution. The action of the IIT-M management will lead to serious consequences, they warned. P. Uchimagali, State president of the SFI and J. Rajmohan, state secretary of the SFI, led the agitation, when A. T. Kannan, district president and T. Jothibasu, district secretary spoke.
