Seeman’s remarks condemned

October 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - THENI:

Members of Theni Kammarvar Association burnt the effigy of Naam Thamizhar Katchi leader Seeman here on Thursday in protest against his remarks against King Thirumalai Naick and a particular community.

They also condemned the attack of a documentary writer’s office at Lakshmipuram near here.

They demanded the immediate arrest of those behind the attack.

Around 100 members of the association thronged the office of the Superintendent of Police near the collectorate and submitted a petition to the SP seeking action against Seeman under National Security Act, saying his comments could instigate caste violence.

An unidentified gang had attacked a document writer’s office, assaulted a staff, Jegadeesan (27) of Theni, and robbed Rs.10 lakh in Theni on Wednesday.
