The Judicial Magistrate Court No. VI here granted bail on Thursday to Seeman, founder of the Naam Tamilar Katchi, who was arrested on Wednesday while holding discussions with aggrieved farmers over the green corridor project.

Seeman was interacting with the people of Koomangadu village in Parapatti panchayat, who were aggrieved over the proposal of the government to acquire their lands and other property for the Salem – Chennai green corridor expressway project. Eight cadres of the Naam Tamilar Katchi too were arrested along with him.

C. Mohanram, Judicial Magistrate No. VI, remanded all of them in judicial custody late Wednesday evening and they were lodged in the Salem Central Prison.
