Security tightened at Pallapatti

Security has been tightened at Pallapatti near here following stiff opposition to the opening of office of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). A day after the SDPI opened its branch office in a private building, various ulemas, members of United Jamat, town Jamat, all parties including AIADMK, and DMK and others held an emergency meeting in Pallapatti on Thursday.

M. Baseer Ahamed, town secretary, DMK, and M. Abuthahir, town secretary, AIADMK, were among those participated. Many of them registered their opposition to the opening of office at Pallapatty.
