School buildings, college hostels inaugurated

Schools buildings and college hostels, constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.49 crore, were inaugurated by Chief Minister Jayalalitha through videoconferencing from Chennai on Monday.

Cost

The college hostel for Backward Class students was constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,15,42,346 at Andalur Gate on the Salem – Namakkal National Highway which can accommodate 100 students. Also, the school hostel at Tiruchengode was constructed at a cost of Rs. 62,83,000 and another hostel in Velagoundampatti at a cost of Rs. 71,36,000 were inaugurated on Monday.

Both these hostels constructed under the District Backward and Most Backward and Minorities Welfare Department can accommodate 50 students each.

District Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy was present on the occasion.
