About 600 million cubic feet of water would be released in three instalments between February and April to irrigate 2,500 acres of agriculture lands in Tirukovilur region.

In all, 10,043 acres of agricultural lands in Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram districts would be irrigated with the water released from the dam, said sources in the Public Works Department.
