A special sale to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and to cash in on Deepavali celebrations began at Khadi Craft here on Friday.
District Collector V. Sampath paid floral tributes to the photograph of the Father of the Nation in the showroom. He said that the sales target has been fixed at Rs. 80 lakh for the current season. Khadi silk sarees, khadi polyester, readymade garments, herbal soaps, honey, incense sticks, palm sugar are on sale. A special discount of 30 per cent would be given for khadi, polyester, and silk products, and 20 per cent discount would be given for bed spreads. Temporary shops have been opened in all panchayat union offices. Instalment facility is available.
