Residents stage road roko demanding water supply

June 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Tiruvannamalai:

Residents of the 11th ward in Vandavasi Municipality staged a road roko on Monday condemning irregular water supply.

They complained that they get water only once in a while and when they get it they don’t get it in sufficient pressure so that water could be tapped from home.

They assembled in the fort corner and staged a road roko.

Immediately police officials and municipal chairperson Afsar Liyagath rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters.

The protesters vacated the fort corner but rushed to municipal office and staged a picket agitation throwing the traffic out of gear for about an hour in the Vandavasi town.
