Fine heavily for letting out cattle on roads
Commuters and senior citizens find it extremely difficult to cross the road owing to stray cattle. Some vehicles face a Herculean task to navigate their way, and often there are accidents. This can be avoided if the cattle are kept at their houses by the owners. The Municipality must impose a fine of not less than Rs. 1000 for stray cattle and warn owners about this practice.

Regulate traffic
near theatre
There is heavy flow of traffic in front of the Adlab Theatre, especially during the time of a movie’s release. It gets worse during weekends. Pedestrians are finding it difficult to cross the road. I request the authorities concerned to depute a policeman to control the traffic flow here for the safety of the pedestrians.

‘Peaceful Puducherry,’ only in words
Authorities claim that law and order in Puducherry is under control and the city is peaceful. This is a myth. ‘Peaceful Puducherry’ is only in words. Recently, I was shifting my residence within the city.
My truck with household articles was surrounded by tough looking people who told me that unloading goods is their right.
This has been going on unabated in the city and the common man is at the mercy of these goons. Reports of murder, theft and rape are almost a daily occurrence in the papers.
The cold blooded murder of a pawn broker has been forgotten.
The recent acquittal in the case of another murder watched by many including policemen, leaves a lot to be desired.
