One person was on Monday arrested on charges of rash and drunken driving after his car hit Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy’s convoy vehicle here, police said.

The car driver, Mubarak Ali, was arrested under different sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act, police said.

Mr. Rangasamy escaped unhurt in the accident at Santhome, which happened when the luxury car being driven by Ali hit the pilot vehicle of Mr. Rangasamy’s convoy, which slightly brushed the Chief Minister’s car last night.

Mr. Rangasamy, who was here to attend a marriage, did not sustain any injury and proceeded to Puducherry by another car.
