Similarly, a quack, who was running a clinic at his house, was arrested here on Thursday evening.
According to police, K. Rajinikumar (41) of Matha Nagar Main Road had a name board at his house stating that he was a doctor with MD degree. Health officials led by Joint Director of Health J. Nallathambi Gnana Diwakar raided his house and demanded that he produce his certificates of qualification.
He told them that he was a homeopathy doctor with SSLC qualification. But he could not produce any certificates to prove that claim either. He had been running the clinic there for the last seven months. Earlier, he had a clinic at Poo Pandiapuram under Thalamuthu Nagar police limits.
Based on a complaint lodged by Dr Diwakar, Thalamuthu Nagar police filed a case against him under Sections 420 and 418 of the Indian Penal Code.
