Pudukottai gets underground drainage


Works on the underground drainage facility and setting up of sewage treatment plant have been completed, taking advantage of the gravitational flow in this town.

The works, executed at an estimate of Rs. 48.16 crore, covered a cumulative length of 155 km of sewer lines and 5,585 manholes have been set up. The sewage treatment plant would handle 10.6 million litres per day (mld).

G. Prakash, Director of Municipal Administration, on Wednesday, inspected these works and ascertained their quality. Accompanied by R. Rajasekar, Municipal Chairman, he inspected the sewer chamber.
