Tamil Nadu Water Investment Company, which has been entrusted with the task of preparing detailed project report for establishment of Common Effluent Treatment Plants for proposed integrated textile parks in Erode, Salem, Karur and Namakkal districts, has taken note of difficulties faced by small-scale production units in complying with reject management system.

At the first review meeting chaired by District Collector S. Prabakar on Saturday, Chief Executive Officer of the company I. Sadiq Hussein was apprised by owners of dyeing and bleaching units about the high expenditure they are required to incur for installing the system at individual level.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests has directed the company to prepare the DPR, factoring in area-specific requirements and feasibility for installing CETPs in the four districts.

In Erode district, there are three industrial clusters in Erode and one each in Bhavani, Perundurai and Chennimalai.
