The performance of Pandyan Grama Bank (PGB) in lending to joint liability groups came in for praise at a seminar organised here on Friday.

S. Karthikeyan, Chairman, PGB, said that the bank was able to reach higher levels in lending to self-help groups and joint liability groups with the assistance provided by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The seminar was inaugurated by S. Natarajan, General Manager, NABARD. Those who addressed the gathering included R. Amalorpavanathan, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD, who appreciated the performance of the bank.

According to a press release, loans to the tune of Rs 1.05 crore were distributed to 46 beneficiaries on the occasion. M. Periasamy, General Manager, PGB, welcomed the gathering and K. Ramasubbu, General Manager, proposed a vote of thanks.
