Corporation administration will be holding a polling on October 30 and 31 to obtain the views of the residents in the entire 60 wards so as to identify the most preferred sectors to be developed to make Tirupur a ‘Smart city’ in its chronological order.
Official sources said as many as 39 polling stations were set up in the city to help people poll the views. Polling would be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Already, the authorities conducted an online poll to obtain the views.
But, the physical polling, too, was planned as the online methodology could be accessed by only a select section of the population.
Apart from the polling methodology, the Corporation administration also had arranged an essay writing competition for children and adults in which they could express their views on how to reduce the critical gaps in the existing infrastructure.
Essays
Essays need to be submitted before October 28 either through post or online to Tirupur Corporation by going in to Mygov.in.
Entire views obtained through polling and essay contests would be considered when drafting the final smart city proposal, the officials here said.
