A group of students from Chathram Bharathi Government Higher Secondary School in Kadayam submitted petition in the Collector’s office on Friday seeking free laptops.
The petitioner students said the State Government, while giving free laptops to all other groups in the Plus Two, had not sanctioned the freebee to the students of computer science group, saying that they were studying in the self finance stream. Though the students studying in this group were given free textbooks, notebooks and cycles, free laptops were not given to the students of computer science.
Considering the need for having laptops, the State Government should give free laptops to the students of computer science group also, they said.
