A group of residents from RSA Nagar in ward 2 of Tirunelveli Corporation submitted a petition to Mayor E. Bhuvaneshwari on Tuesday seeking regular supply of drinking water to their area.

The petitioners said that the 400-odd residents had been struggling a lot for the past 10 years due to erratic and inadequate supply of drinking water.

No steps so far

Though the corporation officials had been apprised of this serious problem on many occasions, no steps had been taken to solve the drinking water crisis.

Hence, the Mayor should take immediate action for ensuring regular supply of drinking water to their area, the petitioners also added.
