Placement camp

A private placement camp would be held at the District Employment Office on July 4. Anand Engineering Products Ltd. will recruit candidates who have completed ITI (fitter, welder and machinist) and those who have completed apprenticeship. Candidates with degrees, diplomas, and plus two qualifications will be recruited for various positions during the camp. Those interested can attend the camp at 10 a.m. along with the originals and photocopies of their qualifications and ration cards, C. Tamilselvi, Deputy Director, District Employment Office, said in a press release.

Hostel admission

Admissions are open to the school and college students’ hostels meant for students from the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities and Minorities in the district, Collector K.S. Palanisamy has said. The district has 24 boys and 15 girls hostels. For college students, there are six for men and five for women. Students studying in classes 4 to 12 are eligible for admissions to the students’ hostels. Graduate, postgraduate, and polytechnic students can join the hostels meant for college students. The residence of applicants should be more than 8 km away from their educational institution. However, this rule will not be applicable for girls. Applications can be obtained free of cost from the respective hostel wardens or the office of the District Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Officer. The last date for submission of applications for school students hostels will be July 7 and for college students hostels, it will be July 15, Mr. Palanisamy said in a press release. Five seats have been allotted for wards of Sri Lankan Tamils in all the students hostels in the State, he added.

ITI counselling

Counselling for admissions to the government industrial training institutes in the district will be held from July 1 at the Government ITI, Tiruverumbur, as per the following schedule: July 1 – for candidates with rankings 1 to 403; July 2 – 404 to 916; July 3 – 917 to 1,400 and July 6 – 1,401 to 1,850. Counselling for courses with minimum eligibility of standard VIII would be held on July 4. Those who have not received their call letters can appear for the counselling as per schedule, an official release said.
