The 66th Republic Day was celebrated at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Ranipet on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, K. Mysaiah, Executive Director, BHEL, Ranipet said BHEL has bagged some major orders in the past quarter. Telangana State GENCO has signed Memorandum of Understanding for 6,000 MW Thermal Power Plant on Engineering Procurement and Construction basis. It is placing orders on nomination basis. Meanwhile, order for Kothagudam stage-IV (1 x 800 MW) has been received and order for Manuguru (4 x 270 MW) was expected shortly. Orders for remaining 4,140 MW are in the pipeline, he said, according to a press release.
He congratulated the two BHEL EXCEL award winners and 27 IMPRESS award winners for 2014-15 for contributing to improving the productivity and bringing savings to the organization.
He outlined the various awards bagged by BHEL at various quality circle conventions. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, it has identified seven projects to be completed during 2014-2015 at an approximate cost of Rs. 54 lakh.
This included construction of toilet with septic tank in Government Higher Secondary Schools at Guruvarajpet and Rendadi benefitting around 2,300 children, compound walls at GHSS Kodaikal and Walajapet, computer lab at GHSS Kodaikkal and drinking water sump at GHSS Arakkonam, the release said.
