Perarivalan’s mother seeks extension of parole

With the parole period of A.G. Perarivalan, a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, coming to an end on October 24, his mother, T. Arputham, has appealed to the Chief Minister to extend the ordinary leave for another 30 days.

The State government granted Perarivalan a 30-day parole on August 24.

It issued an order extending the parole by another 30 days on September 23 following a request from his mother.

On October 17, Ms. Arputham has written to the Chief Minister seeking extension of the parole for another 30 days citing the health condition of his father T. Gnanasekaran alias Kuildasan.

She pointed out that her husband, who was suffering from hypertension, bronchial asthma, diabetes and neurological problems, was diagnosed with benign enlargement of prostrate with chronic bronchitis and COPD. At Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai, he was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease with lumbo sacral spondylosis, benign prostatic hypertrophy.

She also mentioned that her daughter, A.G. Anbumani, had health problems, and that she was facing difficulty in taking care of both her husband and daughter. She said the presence of Perarivalan would be of great help to her.
