Senior citizens staged a road roko in Arani condemning the delay in the disbursal of Old Age Pension.
According to reports, the beneficiaries of the Old Age Pension scheme, who receive their monthly pension money orders through Saidapet post office in Arani did not get their pension since last month due to some technical fault in the post office.
As the fault was attended to and a section of money orders were being disbursed on Monday, a conflict broke out between a section of beneficiaries and a postman. As a result, the disbursal work was allegedly affected and the enraged senior citizens blocked the road near Saidapet area.
