Pass percentage in Thanjavur, Tiruvarur districts goes up

A Madukkoor school girl scored 498 marks to bag the joint second position in the State and top rank in Thanjavur district in the SSLC exams the results of which were declared on Wednesday. The district recorded a pass percentage of 95.39, 1.10 per cent more over the last year’s performance. A total of 35,042 students from 399 schools took the examinations this year and among them 33,426 secured pass marks to record 95.39 per cent pass. Five students came joint second while six others were declared joint third in the district.

M. Abirami of Gandhi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madukkoor, aggregated 498 out of 500 marks to win the top honours in Thanjavur district and she was ranked joint second in the State.

S. Gayathri and M.S. Manusri Rekshana, both from St. Isabels Girls HSS, Pattukkottai, M. Mukistan of Brindhavan HSS, Sukkiranpatti, M.V. Nandhini of Five Star Matriculations HSS, Pattukkottai, V. Shruthi of Yagappa Matriculations HSS, Thanjavur, who all secured 497 marks, were joint state third and district second rank holders in the district.

M. Lakshmi of Sacred Heart Girls HSS, Thanjavur, R. Lisa Ragavi of Auxilium Girls HSS, Thanjavur, K.U. Prabhavathy of Sri Matha Matriculation HSS, Kumbakonam, J. Shabana Meatha of Five Star Matriculation HSS, Pattukkottai, D. Shanmuga Priya of Amalraj Matriculation HSS, Tiruvaiyaru, and V. Shriram Bharadwaj of Don Bosco Matriculation HSS, Thanjavur, got 496 marks each to be ranked the joint third position in the district.

While 531 students secured centum in Mathematics, 426 scored 100 marks in Science and 860 students tallied 100 marks in Social Science.

Tiruvarur

The district has secured a pass percentage of 89.33 in the SSLC examinations. This is 5.55 per cent higher over the previous year’s achievement of 83.78 per cent. Out of the total 17,816 candidates who took the exams, 15,915 have passed.

P. Karpaga Nandhini of RC Fathima Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, M. Venkateswari of New Bharat Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, and R. Vasundara Devi of Dharani Matriculation HSS, Mannargudi, secured 497 each to secure the joint third position in the State and first rank in the district.

R. Arthi of Sri Mahaedv Guruji HSS, Valangaiman, Neelan Matriculation HSS, Nidamangalam, R.K. Akshaya, V. Gunapriya of Rahmath Matriculation HSS, Muthupettai, I. Charumathy of Saraswati Vidyalaya, Tiruvarur, N. Vindhya of Brilliant Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, R. Kalaivani of Sri Sankara Matriculation HSS, Peralam, A. Preethi of Dharani Matriculation HSS, Mannargudi, V. Pulithevan of Bharathidasan Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, Tawheeda of RC Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, secured 496 marks to be declared joint State third rank and district second rank.

D. Ambareesh and K. Soundarya of Sri Bharathidasan Matriculation HSS, Mannargudi, A. Abinash of Sairam Matriculation HSS, Tiruthuraipoondi, M. Harini of St. Teresa's Girls HSS, Tiruvarur, M. Michardine Jone of St. Antony's Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, A. Gnanasrathy of Brilliant Girls HSS, Muthupettai, S. Brihadeeswaran of RC Fathiman Matriculation HSS, Tiruvarur, and R. Hariprasad of VS Boys HSS, Tiruvarur, secured 495 marks each to be ranked third in the district.

While 302 students scored centum in Mathematics, 246 got 100 marks in Science and 619 scored centum in Social Science in the district.

Securing 492 marks, G. Rajalakshmi of Government Girls HSS, Koradachery, and T.P. Fathima of Government Girls HSS, Koothanallur, to top the students from government schools in Tiruvarur district.
