PASIC employees seek government intervention

Employees of the Puducherry Agro Service and Industries Corporation Limited (PASIC) on Friday urged the government to intervene and set right the financial position of the corporation, which has been running in loss for several years.

In a release, the employees said salary and wages for 383 permanent and 256 daily-rated employees have not been distributed for the last two months. Deductions related to LIC premium, Provident Fund and loan recoveries in banks have also not been made and this was causing great hardship.

The government should rescue the corporation from the losses and take steps to ensure immediate disbursal of salary to the employees, the release said.
