Panchayat to file case against those who criticise acquittal of Jayalalithaa

The Salem District Panchayat Council adopted a resolution favouring filing of cases against those who criticised the Karnataka High Court judgement acquitting AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.

District Panchayat Council president Satish Kumar presided over the meeting held on Friday.

Councillors representing various wards highlighted the problems confronting the people. They urged the district panchayat to take special initiative for the execution of drinking water, drainage and road works without any delay. All the pending new building construction works should be completed on time and they should be brought to public use. A.P. Manikandan (AIADMK) pleaded moved the resolution favouring filing of cases against those who criticised the acquittal of Ms. Jayalalithaa and it was adopted.
