Over 23,000 applications received for MBBS course

Over 23,000 applications for the MBBS course have been received from students this year in 17 medical colleges in the State.

This has exceeded the number of applications (just over 18,000) sold last year, according to Sheela Grace Jeevamani, Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education. The merit list will be published on June 21 and the date for commencement of the first phase of counselling is June 30. Application forms for the M.Sc (Medical Physics) course for 2011-2012 will be available online from June 1 to June 15 and can be downloaded from the websites: www.tn.health.org and www.tn.gov.in

A demand draft for Rs. 1000 should be drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee' Chennai -10 should be attached with the application, as cost of the application. SC/SCA/ST candidates are exempted from this fee. Filled in applications should be submitted on or before June 15.
