Treasury benches ignore him

On his maiden entry into the State Legislative Assembly on Monday, newly elected MLA from Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar T.T.V. Dhinakaran was greeted enthusiastically by opposition party members and four AIADMK members.

After being received and escorted by two AIADMK MLAs – Rathinasabapathy and V.T. Kalaiselvan – supporting him, Mr. Dhinakaran entered the House some 20 minutes before the Governor’s arrival. The DMK members were more than happy to greet him, as were the Congress members. Though some AIADMK MLAs were present when he arrived, there was no exchange of greetings. Two others elected on the AIADMK ticket – M. Thamimun Ansari and U. Thaniyarasu – approached his seat and greeted him.

Speaking to mediapersons later outside the House, Mr. Dhinakaran criticised the Governor’s speech.
