Officials inspect encroached areas

A team of officials from Revenue, Highways, HR&CE and other related departments, led by Kodaikanal RDO N. Suresh inspected various places, which were reportedly encroached upon here on Friday.

The complainant Tamil Nadu Thirthondar Sabai founder Radhakrishnan went along with officials to show several spots around the hill temple and in the town to check whether they were under encroachments or not. The team inspected places near theatre, marriage halls, shops and auditorium around the hill temple.

The inspection was done as per the direction of the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

Mr. Radhakrishnan obtained the court direction to evict all encroachments on the land owned by the temple administration.

Later, the RDO convened a meeting with officials in Madurai and Dindigul.
