Officer inspects ‘Amma Unavagam’

onstruction of ‘Amma Unavagam’ near the Old Bus stand here has been completed and it is ready for inauguration.

A team of officials led by N. Chandrasekaran, Special Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, also Monitoring Officer for the district, inspected various ongoing schemes in the district on Monday. Collector S. Ganesh explained the advantages of the modern infrastructure provided at the unavagam.

It has been constructed at an estimate of Rs.24 lakh and can accommodate 300 persons at a given time according to official sources.

A similar ‘unavagam’ has been constructed on the campus of the Ranee’s Government Maternity Hospital.

Earlier, Mr. Chandrasekaran inspected the newly-constructed chilling plant of Aavin.

He inspected the functioning of the Village Panchayat Service Centre at Pallathupatti, set up at an estimate of Rs. 10 lakh. He saw the cultivation of Co-3, a fodder grass, being grown by the Animal Husbandry Department and the Agriculture Department, at Thudaiyanur.

It has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 24 lakh
