The standardised parameters for producing thin and light weight winter garments, especially meant for use during physical activities, will be soon disseminated to Tirupur apparel exporters so as to help them gain value-addition and get more export orders from colder countries.

“Usually the winter garments produced from Tirupur cluster have thick layers of fabrics and are cotton-based products. On the advantages of the new range of product, Mr. Senthil Kumar said that the production cost would come down significantly vis-à-vis the traditional thick layered winter garments, as lesser quantity of fabrics were used.

New technique

Mr. Senthil Kumar also said that the Institute had now standardised new technique it recently evolved for treating dyeing effluents and also a natural mordant developed for dyeing the fabrics.
