No breakthrough in murder case

June 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - ERODE:

There has been no progress in the police investigation into the murder for gain at a locality in Vallipurathanpalayam in which an aged woman was killed and seven sovereigns of jewellery taken away by burglars.

The woman was sleeping outside her house when the incident happened.

Special teams had been following some leads, and a breakthrough was expected in a week’s time, said Superintendent of Police M.R. Sibi Chakravarthy.

The police have been advising people not to keep valuable jewellery at home. Particularly, in extension areas where there is distance between houses, burglars are able to strike at ease taking advantage of the distance and the darkness.
