Around 1000 people are expected to benefit from a ten-day yoga programme organised at the Learning and Development Centre of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation in Neyveli. At the inauguration of the programme on the International Day of Yoga celebrations on Sunday, B. Surender Mohan, Chief Managing Director, NLC, said that yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition to mankind. It is not mere exercise, but a discovery of the ‘sense of oneness’ within, he said. “Health is a physical need, while knowledge is a psychological need,” said Mr. Mohan.

Maduka, a yoga master from the Isha Foundation, briefed participants about the programme schedule, which included pre-yoga warm-up exercises. Functional Directors, S.K. Acharya, Rakesh Kumar, S. Boopathy and other senior officials and employees participated.
