Newborn’s body found

The body of a newborn girl was retrieved from a farm well in M. Perumapalayam village near Vazhappadi on Sunday. Manikkam, employed in the private farm, found the body floating in the well on Sunday morning. On receiving information from the village administrative officer, Vazhappadi police along with fire and rescue services personnel retrieved the body. The body has been sent to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital in the city for post-mortem examination. Vazhappadi police have registered a case and are investigating.
