P. Rajan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), Tirunelveli City, assumed office here on Wednesday.
Prior to this assignment, he was Additional Superintendent of Police in Villupuram district. Earlier, T.P. Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Tirunelveli City, took additional charge to control crime and traffic here.
Mr. Rajan told the media special teams would be formed to reduce crime rate and patrolling intensified in all parts of the city. Appropriate measures would be taken to ease traffic congestions after studying ground realities.
