Nepal relief fund evokes good response

The initiative of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in the city to raise Nepal earthquake relief fund has evoked good response. School and college students and people from all walks of life have been contributing liberally for the fund.

The students of the Golden Gates Matriculation School in the city contributed a sum of Rs. 1.05 lakh for the earthquake relief fund, while the students of Emerald Valley Public School contributed Rs. 27,500 towards the same. Students of both these schools donated Rs. 50 each.

The school authorities along with the student representatives handed over the cheques to Swami Yatatmananda, secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama recently.

In a similar gesture, the members of the Salem Sindhi Association donated a sum of Rs. 1.30 lakh towards the fund.
