Mylapore police directed to file final report

The Madras High Court has directed the Mylapore (Crime) police to file the final report in a case relating to alleged cheating of a woman from Cudappah, Andhra Pradesh, by a medical centre at Mylapore here, within three months.

Justice C.T.Selvam passed the order on a petition by K.S. Prasantha Lakshmi of Cudappah. In her petition, filed through counsel G.Devi and V.S.Suresh, the woman submitted that after seeing advertisements, she approached the 'Thiruvangur Raja Vaidya Salai' for treatment of psoriasis.

Vijaya Kumar and his son Jagadeeshkumar and wife Anila Jagadeesh gave her treatment from September 2008 to December 2009. The complainant alleged that they collected Rs.four lakh from her; but she was not cured. The disease got aggravated. She lodged a complaint with the police in March 2010.

She sent representations to the Commissioner and the police station to expedite the investigation and file the charge sheet. Till date, there was no reply. Hence, the present petition.
