Miscreants break into BU VC’s office

June 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - BENGALURU:

Sunday was not a holiday for everyone. While officials of Bangalore University (BU) were on a break, some miscreants broke into the office of the Vice-Chancellor (VC) in the densely forested and vast Jnanabharathi (JB) campus on Sunday evening, which came to light on Monday morning.

DCP (Bengaluru Central) Sandeep Patil said a case has been registered, but university officials have not said what is missing.

Losses

Confirming this, BU Vice-Chancellor B. Thimme Gowda said he was working out of the Central College campus on Monday and had not yet assessed the losses at his JB campus office.

“Someone has broken open the ventilator and got in. On the surface, I have been told nothing seems to be missing,” he said.

‘Robbery’

It is not just BU. In May, an unusual “robbery” hit the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), with photos of Gandhiji and B.R. Ambedkar missing.
