Mentally challenged treated, handed over to relatives

Kehaikho (35) of Assam, a mentally deranged person who was loitering in the streets of Kangeyanallur here was admitted to the Mental Health Centre of the Christian Medical College, Vellore with the help of Arogyachitra, Santhakumar and Udayaprakash Raj, Master of Social Work students of Voorhees College and Udhavum Ullangal, a Vellore-based NGO on Saturday.

When Kehaikho was under treatment at the Mental Health Centre, representatives of Udhavum Ullangal found out through the Electors’ Photo Identity Card in his possession that he had a relative Roop Singh in Kancheepuram. The latter was asked to come to Vellore. The representatives of Udhavum Ullangal handed over Kehaikho to Roop Singh on Sunday.
