Medical scam case: police obtain transit warrant for main accused

Crime Branch police have obtained transit warrant to bring the main accused in the Rs. 5 crore medical college seat scam case that was unearthed last week, from a prison in Bengaluru where he was lodged after the arrest in another case there.

The main accused in the case, Srinivasan along with two others allegedly duped a large number of people by offering them to arrange seats in private medical colleges for their children.

Of the three accused in the case, S. Natarajan was arrested here.

“Since Srinivasan is there in prison, we have obtained the transit warrant and he will be brought here on Tuesday. Crime Branch team from Tirupur will make the official arrest of Srinivasan in connection with the case registered here at Bengaluru prison itself before bringing the accused,” Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Sundaravadivel told The Hindu .
