MBBS student dies in road accident near Villupuram

An MBBS student of a private college in Chennai died and his friend was injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed a private college van at Kottakuppam on the East Coast Road on Wednesday. The name of the victim was given as Hemanth Reddy, 23, of Chennai.

According to the police, Hemanth Reddy and his friend Krishnan, 25, were returning to Chennai from Puducherry. Krishnan, who was at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle and hit the van.

While Reddy died on the spot, Krishnan was admitted to the Puducherry Government General Hospital.

A case has been registered.
