The police have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly attacking a man suspecting him to be a child kidnapper.
According to the police attached to Sathuvachari station, a Hindi-speaking man was spotted in Pudu Vasur on Sunday night. Suspecting that he was a child kidnapper, Parthiban, a resident of Pudu Vasur, assaulted him.
The police said the man was mentally disoriented and said he was from Howrah. Following this, the police arrested Parthiban and booked him under sections 294b (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words in or near any public place), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 307 (attempt to murder) of Indian Penal Code.
