‘Majority of TN companies have not filed particulars to Registrar’

A majority of companies in Tamil Nadu has neither registered themselves nor furnished financial details to the Registrar of Companies, a senior government official said here on Tuesday.

“Though there are 52,425 companies (in Tamil Nadu), only 20,000 have registered their financial particulars. The remaining 32,425 companies have not furnished any of the details”, Corporate Affairs Ministry, Registrar of Companies, V.C. Davey told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

He urged the companies to come forward and file their particulars.

“We do not know what has happened to such companies. Even if the respective proprietors had closed their unit, they should inform it to us so that we will remove the name of the company”, he said.

Earlier, at the seminar “CSR: Sustainable profit through Sustainable Development” organised by industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Corporate Affairs Ministry Regional Director B.K. Bansal said, the Ministry was conducting the “India Corporate Week” from December 14 across the country.

“We have planned to conduct this programme every year. It would help the public, the Corporate and the Ministry to share their difficulties and to have good relations”, he said.

The celebrations would culminate in a grand finale on December 21 at New Delhi when President Prathiba Patil would present the National Corporate Awards to various companies which have achieved excellence in the corporate sector, he added.
