Daksh 2010, a national techno-management festival, began at SASTRA University here on Friday. Alok Kothari, Managing Director, Aruba Network India Private Limited inaugurated the festival.
He said that world is moving towards wireless connectivity and educational institutions should provide that connectivity to students if India had to catch up with the globalisation trend.
He spoke at length of the changing scenario in educational institutions. He said that sales of laptops had overshadowed the sales of desk tops world over in 2007.
The world was generating more information now than that was 15 years ago. Classrooms and curriculums had changed a lot. Tech-enhanced instruction, real time learning, digital wi-boards were the in-things now.
Manoj, Team leader of Daksh, said that the festival offered seven technical event clusters. Power talks on important subjects, video conferencing sessions, robodance and laser nites were the other events. Vaidhya Subramaniam, Chief Co-ordinator of the festival, participated in the inauguration.
