LPG consumers complain of callousness

May 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - Tiruvannamalai:

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) consumers complained that employees of gas agencies fleece money to attend calls of gas leaks.

Grievance Meet

The Tiruvannamalai Revenue Division level LPG consumers grievance redressal meet was held here on Saturday. Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Uma Maheswari presided over the meet.

Some other participants complained that gas agencies don’t distribute refill cylinders door-to-door in villages.

At a common place

Instead, they distribute cylinders in a common place of the village and force consumers to come and collect them.

Consumers generally complained that employees of gas agencies who supply the cylinders demand extra money over and above the bill amount and wanted this practice to be curbed.

Personal Assistant to RDO Vediyappan and Taluk Supply Officer Panneer Selvam were among those who participated.
