Mahailir Court in Nagercoil awarded life sentence to a man here on Thursday for killing his wife. Rajendran (55) of Kumarapuram near Kottricode in Kanyakumari district was accused of having beaten to death his wife Rani following a domestic dispute on May 25, 2004. Kotricode police registered a murder case against Rajendran. After hearing the case, A. Muthu Saradha, judge of the Mahalir Court awarded life sentence to Rajendran and also slapped a fine of Rs. 15,000. If he failed to pay the fine, he had to undergo one more year of imprisonment, the judge said.
