A chopped leg of an Indian Gaur was found near the Lake Road near Sai Baba Ashram area here on Friday. Forest officials collected it and sent it for test.

They also initiated investigation to detect if there was any hunting of wild animal going on in the reserve forests.

Environmentalists recalled that a leg of Indian Gaur was found at Vilpatti four months ago. The carcass of a gaur was also found recently. But there was no clue about these incidents so far. Tightening the vigil would help protect wild animals, they appealed.
