The government on Friday revised the rates and schedule for regularisation of unobjectionable government and surplus land on payment basis in various categories following representations from public.

A Government Order said 10 per cent of the basic value must be paid by below poverty line (BPL) families if the dwelling units measured 126 to 150 sq yd in the notified slums. Other than notified slums, the rate was 25 per cent of the basic value. In other cases, the amount payable was 25 per cent of the basic value where the dwelling units measured up to 250 sq yd, 50 per cent of the basic value where the units were up to 500 sq yd and 75 per cent of the basic value where the units were above 500 sq yd. The application money comprising 25 per cent of the entire amount could be paid in two equal instalments before February 28 and April 15.
